Yakutian seeks reimbursement from MFC for a fractured hand and an untied carpet

In a recent ruling, the Yakutsk City Court has partially granted a lawsuit filed by citizen G., who sustained multiple injuries after slipping on an unsecured mat and falling on ceramic steps at the GUAP "MFTS RS(Y)" on Lermontov Street.

The incident occurred back in March, and G. was awarded 100,000 rubles in moral damages by the court on July 21. The court's decision was in favour of the plaintiff, despite the GUAP "MFTS RS(Y)" arguing that the fact of the fall was not properly proven in the complaint.

According to the court documents, there was no reason to distrust the minor witness in the court proceedings. G.'s niece confirmed her aunt's testimony about nearly falling due to the unsecured mat. Medical documents from GUB RS(Y) RB No2 CEMP also showed that G. was holding her left arm when entering the GUAP "MFTS RS(Y)" on the day of the incident, indicating that she may have been attempting to break her fall.

The court stated that the GUAP "MFTS RS(Y)"'s argument that the video surveillance did not show the section of the stairs where the plaintiff fell was not a basis for dismissing the lawsuit. However, it was noted that there was no evidence presented that directly linked the state of the stairs to G.'s fall, as the video footage did not show the section where she fell.

The plaintiff had initially requested 200,000 rubles, but the court awarded her a lower amount of 100,000 rubles in moral damages. The court's decision was based on the evidence presented and the impact the incident had on G.'s life.

It is important to note that there is no publicly available information about the name of the person who ran on the unsecured mat in the stairwell of GUAP "MFTS RS" on Lermontov Street in Yakutsk and sustained multiple injuries.

G. has been reporting this matter to @Torboznoe_radio, hoping to raise awareness about the need for proper maintenance and safety measures in public buildings. The court's decision serves as a reminder to all institutions to prioritise the safety of their visitors and ensure that their premises are free from hazards that could potentially cause harm.
