Youthful Fervor Across Europe

The city of Detmold is set to host the European Youth Campus from July 23 to 28, as part of the GivEUvoice project. This unique initiative brings together young people from eight European countries – France, Spain, Greece, Poland, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Cyprus, and Germany – to give them a platform to voice their ideas and actively co-create.

The project, co-financed by the European Union, has already seen the successful launch of GivEUvoice in Detmold. For any inquiries, Daniela Lang, the project's contact, can be reached at 05231 977 201 or via email at [email protected]. Interested citizens can also contact project leader Sophie M. Gurcke via email at [email protected].

The participants of GivEUvoice have started their own Instagram account (@giveuvoice.germany) to share updates and insights from the project. They are working on a platform tailored to their needs and ideas, and are also developing political recommendations for their home cities.

The culmination of the European Youth Campus will be a public panel discussion on Sunday, July 27. This event, which will take place in English, will involve key decision-makers from organizations such as the European Movement Germany (EBD), the European Commission's representation in Germany, and relevant governmental bodies like the Foreign Office. Notable figures expected to participate include Dr. Anna-Maija Mertens (EBD President), Bernd HΓΌttemann (EBD Secretary General), Anja Wallau from the Foreign Office, and Gosia Binczyk, Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Germany.

This discursive event aims to discuss and jointly consider the youth proposals from various European countries. It is an opportunity for the young participants to have their voices heard and for the decision-makers to gain insights into the perspectives and ideas of the next generation.

The city portal has issued a press release regarding the GivEUvoice project, encouraging citizens to engage with the young participants and support their efforts to empower and co-create. As the project continues, it is hoped that the voices of Europe's youth will be amplified, leading to a more inclusive and collaborative future.
