Yulu Expands to Hyderabad, Now Operating in Nine Cities Across the Country

Electric vehicle-sharing company Yulu has expanded its operations to Hyderabad, making it the company's ninth city of operation in India. This move aligns with the State Government's plans for sustainable urban development.

Yulu's service in Hyderabad offers affordable and flexible rental options to delivery riders, aiming to eliminate common entry barriers and create job opportunities, including for women. The service does not require delivery riders to have a driver's license, vehicle ownership, or any maintenance costs.

The service will initially deploy Yulu's DeX NV electric scooters in the Cyberabad Commissionerate area of Hyderabad, with the DeX GR model to be introduced at a later date. Both scooters are designed for urban use and have a top speed limited to 25 kmph. The DeX NV is designed to carry up to 10 kg of payload, while the DeX GR can accommodate an extra 5 kg load.

Notably, Yulu's service in Hyderabad aims to create a more inclusive environment by offering quick battery swaps through its associate, Yuma Energy, and by organising an EV Rally in collaboration with Yulu, HMWSSB, T-Hub, NITI Aayog, and the Government of Telangana. The launch of Yulu's operations in Hyderabad included the inauguration of purpose-built EVs and an EV rally organized by local delivery partners from companies such as Swiggy, Blinkit, and Zepto.

Bajaj-backed Yulu's approach in Hyderabad aims to provide a solution for delivery riders who are looking for a sustainable and affordable mode of transportation. Both the DeX NV and the DeX GR electric scooters share the same platform, ensuring a seamless user experience.

This expansion marks a significant step forward for Yulu in its mission to revolutionise last-mile connectivity in India's cities. With over 100 million deliveries across India within the past month, Yulu continues to lead the way in electric vehicle adoption and sustainable urban mobility.
